Bright's Best Routes are twelve cross-country routes that have been carefully thought out by some of Bright's most experienced local pilots - Brian Webb, Craig Collings and Fred Gungl. Over the course of the season, pilots fly these routes at any time they wish and submit their tracklogs to us. The fastest time for each route wins - it's that easy!
Trophies are awarded for the fastest time for each route in each of four categories for paragliding (DHV 1/1-2, DHV 2, DHV 2-3 and Open) and in three categories for hang gliding (Kingpost,Floater,Topless). The routes have been designed to encourage pilots to consider undertaking "tasks" rather than purely free flying and to explore terrain that might not usually be considered.
